Predoctoral researcher position on “Hepatic stellate cell-directed crosstalk in liver fibrosis: mechanisms and therapeutic targets” 

We are looking for a highly motivated predoctoral fellow to join our research group within the Digestive and Inflammatory Pharmacology Unit at the University of Valencia, in Valencia, Spain (for more information, visit www.farmacologiavalencia.es). 

The predoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to work in a highly motivated, collaborative and translational research group led by Dr. Ana Blas-García (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7870-1470) and Dr. Nadezda Apostolova (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4487-2471). The fellow will develop a PhD project focused on the study of the hepatic stellate cell-directed crosstalk in liver fibrosis. Its main objective is to characterize the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the progression and regression of this disease and identify new pharmacological targets for its treatment.  

The position will be available immediately (starting date 1st November 2024) and fully funded for up to four years by Santiago Grisolía Programme (CIGRIS/2023/106) of the Valencian Regional Government. 

– Requeriments for candidates

a) Hold a University degree or bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in their country, issued by a UNIVERSITY OR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION. The studies must be related to life sciences or equivalent and have been completed after 1st January 2019

b) Be eligible for the admission in a Doctoral Studies Programme in a University within the Valencian Community for the academic year 2024/2025 and be admitted in that programme by the contract starting date (for more information, visit https://www.uv.es/uvweb/escola-doctorat/ca/admissio-matricula/preinscripcio-/-admissio/requisits-generals-admissio-1285951943615.html).  

c) Possess an adequate level of Spanish or English for the performance of research and laboratory tasks. 

d) Not have already obtained a PhD. 

e) Not have been granted in the framework of Santiago Grisolía Programme previously.
